The clamor for a quad-committee (quad-comm) version 2.0 is growing in the House of Representatives. La Union 1st district Rep. Paolo Ortega emphasized the need to revive the special panel in the 20th Congress. The previous quad-comm had unfinished business and new issues that require attention.

Ortega stated, \"We have a lot of unfinished business to revisit. The efficiency of joint committees like the quad-comm is crucial for handling emerging issues.\" The 19th Congress quad-comm included Committees on Dangerous Drugs, Public Order and Safety, Human Rights, and Public Accounts, chaired by Rep. Robert Ace Barbers.

The panel conducted hearings on POGOs, illegal drugs, land grabbing, and EJKs. Notably, former President Rodrigo Duterte was a key witness. The quad-comm's work led to key measures being filed, addressing EJKs, POGOs, and human rights cooperation.

DOJ Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla linked missing individuals to EJKs. Ortega highlighted the importance of legislation in addressing concerns. Rep. Benny Abante Jr. confirmed plans to reconstitute the quad-comm in the 20th Congress.

Ortega believes quad-comm 2.0 will be a significant initiative in the 20th Congress, expecting many developments to unfold.
