Tour de France: Pogacar dominates stage 12 in Pyrenees, extends lead
Tadej Pogacar's commanding victory over Jonas Vingegaard in the Tour de France stage 12 has solidified his lead in the overall standings. With an impressive performance, Pogacar now holds a significant advantage with nine stages remaining, making his next win seem inevitable.

Tadej Pogacar took a commanding lead in the Tour de France by dominating Jonas Vingegaard on the slopes of Hautacam. Pogacar now leads by over three and a half minutes with nine stages remaining after beating Vingegaard by more than two minutes at the ski station finish.
After crashing in Toulouse a day earlier, Pogacar showed no ill effects as he extended his lead in the Pyrenees. Vingegaard is struggling to mount a challenge, with Scottish climber Oscar Onley also in contention.
Pogacar's decisive move came at the foot of the 13km ascent, setting up his victory. Vingegaard, surrounded by UAE Emirates riders, was unable to keep up as Pogacar powered up the slopes.
The peloton's decision to wait for Pogacar after his crash in Toulouse sparked some debate, but ultimately did not affect the race outcome. The Tour also mourned the loss of young Italian rider Samuele Privitera in a tragic crash.
Friday's stage 13 time trial is unlikely to change the current standings, with Pogacar expected to extend his lead further.
