Brampton Man Faces More Charges in Real Estate Fraud Case as Dozens of New Alleged Victims Step Forward
Moiz Kunwar, accused of defrauding homebuyers, is now facing additional charges. Dozens of new victims have come forward, claiming they were scammed. Peel Regional Police are warning the public about Kunwar and urging anyone with information to come forward.

A Brampton man, Moiz Kunwar, is facing additional criminal charges for allegedly defrauding more than a dozen would-be homeowners. A civil lawyer reports that dozens more alleged victims have recently come forward claiming they were also defrauded.
Kunwar is accused of taking deposits for pre-construction homes he was not authorized to sell, built by a legitimate developer he had no connection with. He faces multiple fraud charges, with new charges added last month. Peel Regional Police are warning the public about Kunwar, urging caution in any transactional interactions with him.
Lawyer Andrew Ballantyne is representing plaintiffs in a civil lawsuit against Kunwar. He has received calls from 40-50 potential victims of the alleged real estate scam. Three civil lawsuits accuse Kunwar of collecting deposits for homes he had no right to sell, leaving buyers without their new homes and out of deposit money.
Kunwar intends to defend himself against all charges and allegations. He previously denied fraud allegations. CBC Toronto's investigation found Kunwar taking deposits for pre-construction homes, despite having no authority to sell them.
