Tour de France Stage 19 Altered Due to Culling of Cows
Changes to stage 19 of the Tour de France were made because of the culling of cows in the Col des Saisies area. The route has been shortened to 95km with two climbs removed due to a contagious disease outbreak among cattle.

Changes have been made to Friday’s stage 19 of the Tour de France due to the culling of cows taking place in the Col des Saisies area. The route will be shortened from 129.9 kilometres to just 95km with two climbs removed.
An outbreak of nodular dermatitis among cattle led to the culling of the affected herd. Race organizers diverted the route to address the distress among farmers. The Albertville-La Plagne stage will now avoid the ascent to the Col des Saisies.
During Thursday’s stage 18, Tadej Pogacar extended his lead in the yellow jersey on the Col de la Loze, while Ben O’Connor secured the stage win.
