Pakistani Army Kills 30 Militants Crossing from Afghan Border
The Pakistani army reported killing 30 militants attempting to cross from Afghanistan, following a recent suicide attack that claimed the lives of 16 soldiers in the same border region. The army's swift action prevented a potential disaster.

Pakistani army on Friday claimed that it killed 30 militants who were attempting to cross from Afghanistan, following a suicide attack that killed 16 soldiers in the same border region last week. The military stated that the security forces acted with professionalism and vigilance to prevent a potential catastrophe.
The suicide attack on June 28 in North Waziristan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province resulted in the death of 16 soldiers and injuries to more than two dozen people, including civilians. The attack was carried out by the suicide bomber wing of the Hafiz Gul Bahadur armed group, a faction of the Pakistan Taliban.
Pakistan has experienced increased violence in its border regions with Afghanistan since the Taliban regained power in Kabul in 2021. Islamabad has accused Afghanistan of harboring militants who launch attacks against Pakistan, a claim denied by the Taliban. The violence in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan has claimed the lives of around 290 people, mostly security officials, since the beginning of the year.
