Dave Porecki Returns to Wallabies Squad for Fiji Test Before Lions Series
Dave Porecki, former Wallabies captain, is set to play against Fiji after being named in the starting XV for the first time since the 2023 Rugby World Cup. The Wallabies are preparing for their upcoming Test against the British and Irish Lions.

Hooker Dave Porecki returns to the Wallabies' starting XV for the first time since the 2023 Rugby World Cup, where he led Australia in a historic loss to Fiji. Porecki will face Fiji in Newcastle on Sunday as Rob Valetini and Will Skelton are out with calf injuries.
Waratahs skipper Jake Gordon and Red fly-half Tom Lynagh are also unavailable. Harry Wilson remains the Wallabies captain, preparing for the first Test against the British and Irish Lions on July 19.
Porecki, one of nine players from the 2023 clash, missed 2024 due to an Achilles tendon issue. He is selected over Billy Pollard and will anchor the front row alongside James Slipper and Allan Alaalatoa.
Coach Joe Schmidt aims to give Porecki more match time after his injury. The team is eager for the upcoming Test against Fiji and the demanding 2025 schedule.
Other players in the starting lineup include Langi Gleeson, Fraser McReight, Tate McDermott, and Noah Lolesio. Joseph-Aukuso Suaalii will make his first Test appearance in Australia.
Harry Potter will debut at home, with Max Jorgensen and Tom Wright completing the backline. The Wallabies' reserves include Billy Pollard, Angus Bell, and Nic White.
