Land Rover has revealed the Defender OCTA Black, a completely blacked-out edition of the iconic SUV. The OCTA Black gets 30 exterior elements that are finished in either Gloss Black or Satin Black.

On the exterior, the Defender OCTA Black features a Narvik Black paint finish. A matte protective film can also be added. The front and rear scuff plates are finished in Satin Black Powder Coat with exposed recovery eyes in Satin Black, while a Gloss Black tow eye cover at the front and Gloss Black quad exhaust tips at the rear give a contrasting finish. The Land Rover oval on the blacked-out front grille is black with darkened silver script. It gets the choice of 20‑inch forged wheels or 22‑inch Gloss Black wheels with black centre caps and Shadow Atlas Defender script. There are also Gloss Black brake calipers with contrasting Sentient Silver script.

The dark theme continues into the interior. The Defender OCTA Black features Ebony Semi‑Aniline Leather with Kvadrat for the Performance seats. They get unique perforation patterns on the seats, with new stitching detail on the backrests, while the seat backs and armrest hinges are finished in Carpathian Grey. Other highlights include a satin black powder-coated cross-bar beam, black switchgear, and a black steering wheel. An optional Chopped Carbon Fibre finish can be chosen for the interior.

Just like the standard updated OCTA, the Black gets a new headlight design with revised signature graphic, and flush rear lights with smoked lenses. Inside, there is a new 13.1‑inch touchscreen for the infotainment.

Power comes from a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 with mild-hybrid tech. The engine puts out 626 BHP and 750 NM torque. It does the 0 to 100 kph sprint in 3.8 seconds and has a top speed of 250 kph.

Additionally, it comes with 6D Dynamics suspension, dedicated OCTA Mode and Body and Soul Seats (BASS).

The standard Defender OCTA was launched in India in March this year and is priced at Rs. 2.59 crore.
