PM Modi presents holy water and Ram Mandir replica to Trinidad & Tobago PM
Prime Minister Narendra Modi gifted holy water from Mahakumbh and a replica of Ram Mandir to Trinidad and Tobago Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar. During his visit, Mr. Modi highlighted the cultural ties between India and Trinidad and Tobago.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi presented holy water from Sangam and Saryu River from Mahakumbh and a replica of Ram Mandir to Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar of Trinidad and Tobago on Thursday (July 3, 2025) (local time).
During his speech to the Indian community in Trinidad and Tobago, Mr. Modi emphasized Bihar's historical and cultural significance, praised the bravery of the Indian diaspora, and referred to Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar as the 'daughter of Bihar'. He mentioned her ancestral connections to the State and asked her to offer water from the Sarayu and the Mahakumbh to the Ganga Dhara in Trinidad and Tobago.
Trinidad and Tobago Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar's ancestors resided in Buxar, Bihar, and she herself has visited the place. Mr. Modi described her as a 'daughter of Bihar'.
Mr. Modi's visit to Trinidad and Tobago marks his first official visit to the country as Prime Minister and the first bilateral visit by an Indian Prime Minister to the Caribbean nation since 1999. The trip was at the invitation of Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar.
Ministry of External Affairs Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal highlighted the strong ties between India and Trinidad and Tobago, noting that 45% of the population in Trinidad and Tobago is of Indian origin, with many coming from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.
