Is this a Glimpse of the House 'Duterte Bloc'?
Davao City Rep. Paolo Duterte hints at a potential 'Duterte bloc' in the House of Representatives with a photo featuring himself, his son Omar Duterte, cousin Harold Duterte, and Rep. Isidro Ungab. The group, dubbed the 'Davao group,' met for lunch to reaffirm their commitment to serving the people of Davao City.
Did Davao City 1st district Rep. Paolo Duterte recently provide a glimpse of the speculated 'Duterte bloc' in the House of Representatives?
On the evening of July 27, just before the 20th Congress session, Paolo Duterte shared a photo on his Facebook featuring himself alongside three other individuals believed to be part of the bloc, referred to as the 'Davao group'.
The group includes his son, Davao City 2nd district Rep. Omar Duterte, and his cousin, PPP Party-list Rep. Harold Duterte, both new House members. Also present is Davao City 3rd district Rep. Isidro Ungab, a former deputy speaker like Paolo Duterte.
In his post, the 1st district representative mentioned a 'Davao group meeting for lunch' with the aim to regroup, reflect, and recommit to their shared values for the people of Davao City.
All four individuals posed with the signature fist gesture associated with the family's patriarch, former president Rodrigo Duterte.
It is anticipated that this quartet will not align with either the majority or minority in the upcoming 20th Congress.
