The driver of one car, a teenage girl, is in critical condition at University Hospital Galway. The occupants of the second car, a man and a woman, sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Gardaí are investigating and seeking witnesses.
Gardaí are appealing for information about the collision that occurred on Ballygaddy Road. They urge anyone who witnessed the incident between 5:50pm and 6:15pm to come forward.
