Samal-Davao City Bridge Construction Reaches 38% Completion, Says DPWH
The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) reported that the construction progress of the Samal Island–Davao City Connector (SIDC) Bridge has reached 38%. The project, funded by Official Development Assistance from China, is being managed by DPWH Unified Project Management Office – Bridges Management Cluster (UPMO-BMC) with China Road and Bridge Corporation as the contractor. The bridge, a toll-free four-lane extradosed structure, will span 4.76 kilometers and feature a 275-meter main span with a 47-meter vertical clearance for marine vessels.

The SIDC Bridge will be a toll-free, four-lane extradosed bridge spanning 4.76 kilometers, connecting Davao City to the Samal Circumferential Road. It will include a 275-meter main span and a 47-meter vertical clearance for marine vessels.
Specific progress updates include completion of bored piling, marine viaduct construction, ramp construction, and pile cap installations on both the Davao and Samal sides. Road widening preparations and right-of-way acquisitions are also underway.
