IAEA Chief Warns Iran Could Resume Uranium Production Soon

The head of the UN nuclear watchdog, Rafael Grossi, warned that Iran is likely to start producing enriched uranium for bombs in a matter of months, despite strikes from Israel and the US. West Asia was shaken after Israel targeted Iran's nuclear and military facilities in Operation Rising Lion on June 13.

Israeli authorities claimed the strikes were necessary as Iran was close to developing nuclear weapons, a claim Iran denies. The US bombed three key facilities used for Tehran's atomic program, with President Donald Trump stating the sites were completely destroyed.

Iran's Foreign Minister acknowledged serious damage to the nuclear sites, but details remain undisclosed. Grossi, the director general of the International Atomic Energy Agency, warned that some of Iran's nuclear infrastructure is still intact, raising concerns about the relocation of enriched uranium stockpiles.

Iranian lawmakers voted to suspend cooperation with the IAEA, rejecting Grossi's request for a visit to the damaged sites. Trump expressed doubts about the stockpile being moved, emphasizing the importance of verification and monitoring efforts in Iran.
