Minister Stresses Importance of Safe Hospital Waste Disposal to Prevent Diseases

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for National Health Services Syed Mustafa Kamal highlighted the importance of safe hospital waste disposal in preventing diseases. He made these comments at a ceremony by the Indus Hospital and Health Network where yellow vehicles for medical waste disposal were provided. The minister stressed the need for preventive measures, stating that diseases can be avoided through caution. Indus Hospital, with Global Fund support, has introduced medical waste disposal vans in 15 districts, including Islamabad. Mustafa Kamal emphasized the hazardous nature of hospital waste and the importance of proper management to prevent disease transmission. Dr Abdul Bari Khan, President of Indus Hospital, expressed gratitude for the government's support and hoped for the replication of this model nationwide.
