The imminent rebirth of the iconic Toyota Celica has been rumored for years. Japanese publication Best Car claims that the GR Yaris M Concept revealed at the Tokyo Auto Salon in January was actually a GR Celica in disguise. The mid-engined GR Yaris M Concept is said to be a new mid-engined GR Celica in disguise. Rumors of Toyota reviving both the Celica and MR2 have circulated since the GR Supra launch in 2019. Toyota Executive Vice President, Hiroki Nakajima, revealed that the two cars were one and the same, with the possibility of it wearing either name.
According to Best Car, the GR Celica will use Toyota's next-generation four-cylinder turbo petrol engine capable of producing up to 300kW.
