Man Receives Life Sentence for Abusing Children, Resulting in Daughter's Death

The 45-year-old man had sought a sentence between 25½ and 30 years in jail. However, the Court of Appeal decided to raise his sentence for culpable homicide not amounting to murder from 15 years to life imprisonment.
The man, who cannot be named to protect his son's identity, had his appeal dismissed despite claims of remorse and pleading guilty.
His daughter, Ayeesha, died from abuse, leading to the increased sentence. The man's wife, also facing charges, was involved in the abuse as well.
