Man injured in tragic Donegal crash that claimed partner and daughter's lives now out of intensive care

The twin sister of a young man who lost his partner and daughter in a road traffic collision in Co Donegal has shared that they are praying for him and the couple’s other daughter to recover. Mother and daughter Natalie and Ella McLaughlin tragically lost their lives in a collision between a car and a van at Glentogher outside Carndonagh. Ella, 6, died at the scene, and her mother Natalie, in her 20s, passed away the following day at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast. Natalie’s partner Tyrone Irwin and their other daughter Rhea-Rose, 2, are still receiving treatment in the hospital.

Tyrone’s twin sister Shannon provided an update, mentioning that her brother has been moved out of the Intensive Care Unit at Altnagelvin Hospital in Derry. She expressed gratitude for the support and condolences received from many well-wishers. Shannon also shared that Rhea-Rose, being treated at the Royal Victoria Hospital, will undergo major surgery on her legs due to the crash.

The funerals of Natalie and Ella are scheduled for Monday, with a large turnout expected to pay respects. Natalie, a respected nurse, and Ella, a senior infant pupil, will be remembered in a funeral mass at the Sacred Heart Church, Carndonagh. The public has been invited to pay their respects, while the family has requested privacy at other times.

In their obituary notice, Natalie and Ella are remembered as beloved family members. They are deeply missed by their relatives, friends, and community. May Ella and Natalie Rest In Eternal Peace.
