PML-N Secures Majority in National Assembly: Ishaq Dar

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar announced that the PML-N has secured a simple majority in the National Assembly. He mentioned that the PPP did not express interest in joining the federal cabinet.
During the 982nd annual ghusal ceremony at the Data Ganj Bakhsh shrine in Lahore, Dar stated that Pakistan supported Iran against Israeli aggression. He highlighted Iran's acknowledgment of Pakistan as a true friend and the display of pro-Pakistan sentiments at Iranian martyrs' funerals.
On the international front, Dar confirmed Pakistan's election as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for two years. He emphasized Islamabad's focus on economic progress over conflict.
Regarding domestic affairs, Dar mentioned the signing of a $2 billion deal with Azerbaijan, reduction in inflation, and the cut in interest rates from 22% to 11%. He also pointed out the improvement in Pakistan's foreign reserves to $14 billion.
Reflecting on political developments, Dar stated that the PML-N holds a simple majority in the National Assembly and assured continued support for the PPP. He dismissed rumors of discord within the ruling alliance.
During his visit to the Data Darbar, Dar participated in cleansing rituals and announced plans for renovation projects at the shrine. He also discussed Pakistan's military capabilities and emphasized the country's readiness to respond to any threats.
Regarding international relations, Dar mentioned ongoing negotiations with Saudi Arabia to streamline visa processes and enhance access for blue passport holders. He stressed the importance of political unity during times of conflict and called for accountability across all provinces.
