Naseeruddin Shah Criticized for Supporting Diljit Dosanjh in Sardaar Ji 3 Controversy
Legendary actor Naseeruddin Shah faced backlash from producer-director Ashoke Pandit for backing Diljit Dosanjh amidst a controversy with FWICE. Pandit accused Shah of being frustrated and restless. The dispute arose over Dosanjh working with Pakistani actor Hania Aamir in Sardaar Ji 3, leading to a call for his boycott.

While the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has taken a stand against actor Diljit Dosanjh for working with Pakistani actor Hania Aamir in the film Sardaar Ji 3, not everyone in the artistic community agrees with the move. Legendary actor Naseeruddin Shah supported Diljit and criticized FWICE, drawing sharp criticism from producer-director Ashoke Pandit.
In a now-deleted Facebook post, Shah expressed his support for Diljit and criticized the Jumla Party for targeting him. Pandit responded by calling Shah frustrated and restless, questioning his remarks.
Pandit, also the president of the Indian Film & Television Director’s Association (IFTDA), criticized Shah for not understanding the tensions between India and Pakistan. He emphasized that the country's interests come first and defended the decision to issue a non-cooperation directive against Diljit.
Following the Pahalgam terror attack, FWICE banned artistes from Pakistan. The presence of Hania Aamir in Sardaar Ji 3 led to demands for an apology from Diljit for allegedly hurting national sentiments. Diljit explained that the film was shot before the attack and supported the decision to release it overseas.
