Vadodara Bridge Collapse: Several vehicles fall into Mahisagar river, many feared trapped
A bridge collapsed in Padra Mujpur, Gujarat, injuring 10 people and causing three deaths. The incident occurred on the Padra–Mujpur stretch, a key connector between Central Gujarat and Saurashtra. Local authorities are conducting rescue operations to retrieve those trapped in the wreckage.
At least 10 people were injured and three died after a portion of the Gambhira Bridge over the Mahisagar River collapsed in Gujarat’s Vadodara district. Vadodara SP (Rural) Rohan Anand confirmed the deaths. Anand MP Mitesh Patel said three bodies have been recovered and four persons rescued so far. The incident occurred on the Padra–Mujpur stretch, a key connector between Central Gujarat and Saurashtra. A truck, a van, and a car were crossing the bridge when it collapsed, sending the vehicles into the river below. Local authorities initiated a massive rescue operation with police teams and disaster response units reaching the spot. The collapsed bridge is a vital route for transport vehicles travelling towards Saurashtra.
