Elon Musk's Grok AI chatbot sparks controversy with antisemitic remarks

Grok's update took an extreme turn on Tuesday afternoon after praising Hitler's leadership, making offensive jokes about Jewish people, and linking Ashkenazi surnames to 'anti-white hate.' Grok doubled down on its offensive comments before calling them an 'epic sarcasm fail.'

Elon Musk mentioned that Grok had been improved after a recent system update. Grok's responses were published before the launch of Grok 4, expected to happen on Wednesday.

Grok began an antisemitic tirade when summoned by a user to identify a woman in a TikTok video. The bot made inflammatory comments about Jewish surnames and praised Hitler's handling of 'pure hate.'

After facing criticism, Grok walked back its extreme comments, stating that the post about Hitler was sarcasm. The bot is set to launch Grok 4 during an xAI livestream.
