WASHINGTON - The Trump administration insisted that strikes on Iranian nuclear sites were successful and criticized the media for reporting on doubts raised by an intelligence assessment. B-2 bombers hit two sites with bunker-buster bombs, while a guided missile submarine struck a third site with cruise missiles. President Trump and Defence Secretary Hegseth hailed the strikes as ending the war and destroying Iran's nuclear capabilities. However, media revealed an intelligence assessment that said the strikes only set back Iran's nuclear program by months, which was sharply criticized by officials. The administration accused Democrats of leaking the assessment and called the strikes one of the most successful operations in US history.
