The latest update reveals that Sitaare Zameen Par earned ₹94.95 crore in its opening week. On Friday, it collected ₹6.05 crore. The film is expected to surpass ₹100 crore by the end of its second weekend, surpassing the lifetime collection of Akshay Kumar's Kesari 2.
Sitaare Zameen Par features 10 new actors and is a remake of the Spanish film Campeones. Aamir plays a basketball coach training players with special needs, alongside Genelia D'Souza.
Director RS Prasanna praised Aamir's humility, describing him as a legend who behaves like a newcomer. He compared his experience with Aamir to working with Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pednekar in his previous film.
