A Memorable Four-Day Wedding Celebration in Turkey

Didem Calik, from Istanbul, and Diarmuid Barrett, from Douglas, first met when they were both working part-time at Centra in Cork. They discovered they were attending the same finance classes in college. Didem texted Diarmuid for coffee, leading to friendship and love. Diarmuid proposed in London on Didem's 30th birthday, and they recently got married in Istanbul with guests from Cork and around the world.

The wedding included traditional Turkish and Irish customs, a Henna night, a bride's hammam, and a reception at CVK Park Bosphorus. The couple's vows were printed in English and Turkish for all guests. The bride's gown was designed to match her cathedral-length veil. The wedding featured a mix of music from different eras and cultures, creating a magical atmosphere.

The couple's first dance was to Can't Take My Eyes Off You by Frankie Valli. They worked with Concordevent for decor, which included personalized details reflecting their story. The celebrations ended with a cruise on the Bosphorus, filled with music, dancing, and stunning views of the Istanbul sunset.
