In a three-hour televised address, Cambodian politician Hun Sen criticized Ms Paetongtarn’s handling of the border issue and also targeted her father, former premier Thaksin Shinawatra.
Despite the criticism, Thailand is working towards dialogue between the foreign ministers of both countries to seek a peaceful resolution.
The tension stems from a longstanding border dispute, with recent escalations leading to reinforcement of troops on both sides and Cambodia seeking resolution through the International Court of Justice.
Thailand is advocating for bilateral talks to resolve the issue.
