Axiom-4 Crew Settles into ISS, Shubhanshu Shukla to Sleep in Dragon Module
After entering the International Space Station, the Axiom-4 crew members are adjusting to life in space. Shubhanshu Shukla, along with other crewmates, is getting familiar with station systems and preparing for research activities.

Several hours after the Axiom-4 crew settled into the International Space Station (ISS), the seven members of Expedition 73 are assisting each other in familiarizing with the orbital lab systems. They are preparing for microgravity research and upcoming space missions. The crew members are Peggy Whitson, Shubhanshu Shukla (Shux), Slawosz Uznanski, and Tibor Kapu.
Post-docking, the Axiom-4 crew organized their sleeping quarters. Peggy is in the 'Airlock', Shux in 'Dragon', Uznanski in 'Columbus', and Tibor in the Japanese Experiment Module (JEM). They conducted handover activities with the Expedition 73 crew and started adapting to life in microgravity. Operational tasks like unpacking cargo and reviewing safety protocols were completed.
On the following day, Peggy and the team unloaded hardware and science freezers from Dragon for installation in station incubators. Safety hardware was transferred inside Dragon, and safety reviews were conducted with the Expedition 73 crew. The crew continued their daily research activities, including a space exercise study, eye exams, and lunar photography. Cargo transfers and life support maintenance were also part of their routine.
Nasa flight engineer Anne McClain assisted the Axiom-4 crew with station familiarization and cargo transfers. Peggy expressed her emotions by sharing a photograph of Earth, saying, 'I’ve missed this view.'
