A mother was travelling in a car behind her fiancé and two children when they were killed in a head-on crash in Queensland's Central Highlands. The crash occurred on the Capricorn Highway between Comet and Blackwater. Four people in the Holden Commodore, including father Shaun Ranger, seven-year-old Baylee, six-year-old Chandler, and another man, lost their lives in the accident. Ranger's fiancé Renee and their youngest daughter Saphora were in a separate car following behind. The family was returning from a camping trip. Two men in the Toyota Hilux ute were also injured. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
