Proof & Company Spirits Shuts Down Singapore Distribution Business
Proof & Company Spirits, the Singapore-based distribution arm of independent spirits company Proof & Company, has closed after 13 years, leading to 16 staff losing their jobs. The closure was attributed to challenges in the F&B and hospitality industry in Singapore.

Proof & Company Spirits, the Singapore-based distribution arm of independent spirits company Proof & Company, has entered provisional liquidation after 13 years. The closure will result in 16 job losses in Singapore due to challenges in the F&B industry, including closures of long-standing customers. The distributor supplied over 50 types of spirits in Singapore and the Asia-Pacific region, with an annual turnover of $7 million locally and $34 million globally.
In recent years, Singapore has seen a rise in F&B closures, with 3,047 establishments shutting down in 2024. However, 3,790 new food businesses opened the same year. The first half of 2025 witnessed 1,404 closures compared to 1,611 in 2024. Despite this, Proof & Company Spirits' cocktail bar 28 HongKong Street will remain open, along with its consultancy arm, Proof Creative, which operates independently from Hong Kong.
Proof Creative has been behind acclaimed bars like Atlas and Manhattan in Singapore, BKK Social Club in Bangkok, and Argo in Hong Kong. The company is working with RSM SG Corporate Advisory to manage the liquidation process and explore potential paths forward. While the Australian business of Proof & Company was put into voluntary administration in April, the operations in Hong Kong and New Zealand will continue.
Founded in 2012 during a period of regional growth in the spirits and hospitality industry, Proof & Company highlighted challenges in China, Australia, and Singapore that have impacted its distribution operations. The company remains committed to its ongoing projects and partnerships in the industry.
