Paul Pogba Happy for Marcus Rashford as Barcelona Move Nears

Manchester United are close to agreeing a deal for Marcus Rashford to join Barcelona on a season-long loan with an option of making the move permanent next summer. Paul Pogba has acknowledged he is happy for Marcus Rashford amid Manchester United being close to agreeing a transfer with Barcelona.

The Catalan club are advancing on a season-long loan deal that will include an option to sign Rashford permanently during next year's summer transfer window. They will also cover the player's full wages during the coming season.

AC Talent agency, namely their founder Arturo Canales, are advising the player after previously brokering his loan to Aston Villa earlier this year. The Premier League club opted against signing Rashford permanently despite having a £40million option in their deal with United.

Barcelona now seem set to be in a similar situation next year. With that move coming close to happening, Pogba was asked for his feelings while appearing on a YouTube live stream with IShowSpeed.

\"That's crazy,\" was his immediate response to the question. \"I'm happy for him because they took his number out.\" Pogba referred there to the club giving his number ten shirt to new signing Matheus Cunha. \"Manchester United, they're losing a great player,\" he continued. \"Marcus Rashford, that will be great for Barcelona, to be honest.

\"I'm not even talking about Manchester United because they've bought two players and the new manager wants to do his thing, I guess, so it's not really his fault if he doesn't believe in someone. He needs to win at the end, you know, if he doesn't play well, he doesn't win, they're gonna sack him. But, like, I'm happy for Marcus.\"

Pogba and Rashford could play against each other next season, with their new teams - the former having joined Monaco - being in the league phase of the Champions League. That would be a first as they have never been on opposite sides of the pitch before across their careers.
