Ch Supt Mark Edgington expressed condolences to Oliver's family and stated that the investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the crash. Those in the hospital are reported to be in stable condition. Support is being provided to those affected by the incident by the police and the school.

The coach, with up to 70 people on board, overturned between Wheddon Cross and Timberscombe. An off-duty firefighter helped free passengers, and emergency services responded with air ambulances to transport the injured. A total of 21 people were taken to the hospital, with some children already discharged.
