Foreign Ministers Condemn Inhumane Killing of Civilians in Gaza

A statement from the Foreign Ministers of 26 countries, including Ireland, condemned the 'drip feeding of aid and the inhumane killing of civilians' in Gaza. They called for an immediate end to the war and the release of all Israeli hostages in the enclave. The signatories included countries like Ireland, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, and more.

The statement criticized Israel's aid delivery model as dangerous and depriving Gazans of human dignity. It expressed concern over the high number of Palestinian casualties while seeking aid and demanded Israel to comply with international humanitarian law.

Israel rejected the statement, calling it disconnected from reality. The aid distribution is managed by the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), which denies being unsafe and is the main aid provider in Gaza.

UN agencies warn of obstacles in providing humanitarian assistance due to a new ground offensive in Deir al-Balah. The statement also condemned the continued detention of hostages by Hamas and rejected proposals for forced displacement of the Palestinian population.

The foreign ministers emphasized the need for an immediate ceasefire and a political solution for security and peace in the region, stating that further bloodshed serves no purpose.
