Every year, NHL free agency starts at noon ET on July 1, and this year was no different. On July 1, a total of 117 contracts were signed, amounting to $666,480,000 by 8:00 p.m. ET. Teams took advantage of the increased salary cap for the 2025-26 season, making significant moves to either keep their pending UFAs or sign new players.
