Rahul Gandhi Criticizes RSS for Push to Remove 'Secular' from Constitution

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi criticized Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) after its general secretary Dattatreya Hosabale suggested removing 'socialist and secular' from the Constitution's Preamble. Rahul highlighted that the Constitution emphasizes equality, secularism, and justice, which irks the RSS.

Rahul stated that RSS and BJP prefer Manusmriti over the Constitution, aiming to deprive the masses of their rights. He emphasized the importance of defending the Constitution against such agendas.

Hosabale's proposal to reconsider the inclusion of 'Socialist' and 'Secular' in the Constitution came after the 42nd constitutional amendment in 1976. The Supreme Court previously upheld the inclusion of these words in the Preamble.
