Singapore's NDP 2025: Red Lions and Naval Divers Set for First-Ever Joint Jump

Naval diver Lim Chee Seng vividly recalls the day he did a free fall jump at the 2018 National Day Parade. He felt proud seeing the crowd in white and red from above. Seven years later, the Naval Diving Unit is teaming up with the Red Lions for a coordinated display at Singapore's 60th birthday celebration, known as the Jump of Unity. This will be the first time both teams will parachute into different locations and perform a combined salute. Unity is the focus, with precise coordination being a significant challenge for the teams. At this year's NDP, seven naval divers will demonstrate a free fall jump used in real operations. They will be transported by the RSAF's H225M Medium Life Helicopter, exit at 6,000 ft, deploy parachutes at 5,000 ft, land in the water at Marina Bay, remove parachutes, reach a recovery platform, and move to the salute point with tight precision.
