Search Continues for Missing Individuals in Kerrville After Fatal Flash Flooding
Officials in Kerrville are working tirelessly to locate missing children and adults following a devastating flash flood. As of now, 27 individuals have been found deceased, with search and rescue operations ongoing to ensure everyone is accounted for. The community is receiving support from state, federal, and local resources during this challenging time.

The city of Kerrville and Kerr County provided an update following the fatal flash flooding that occurred on Friday. As of 8:55 a.m. Saturday, officials reported 27 fatalities, including 18 adults and nine children. Six adults and one child remain unidentified. Kerrville Mayor Joe Herring, Jr. mentioned the establishment of a fund by the Community Foundation of Texas Hill Country to support the affected individuals. City Manager Dalton Rice stated that water levels were receding, and numerous state, federal, and local resources were assisting the community. Search and rescue efforts are ongoing until all individuals are located. The Kerr County Sheriff's Office confirmed that over 850 people have been assessed and found uninjured. Governor Abbott announced 24 fatalities, with Acting Governor Dan Patrick mentioning around 20 missing children from a local camp. U.S. House Representative Chip Roy acknowledged the sacrifices made by individuals who lost their lives while rescuing others. The Kerrville Police Department highlighted the continuous rescue operations and expressed solidarity with those still unaccounted for and their families.
