Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi dismissed rumors about President Asif Ali Zardari's removal and the 27th constitutional amendment as social media speculations. He addressed the media during his visit to Sindh's Rohri city on the eve of Ashura. Naqvi advised against giving attention to the reports and asked the media to avoid political speculation for two days in respect for Ashura. He mentioned that some are spreading misleading narratives due to the alignment of politicians, government, and military establishment. The ruling PML-N gained a simple majority in the National Assembly after the reinstatement of reserved seats, giving the ruling alliance a two-thirds majority in the lower house. Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar stated that the PPP would remain a key ally of the PML-N despite the majority in the National Assembly, emphasizing the support provided by the PPP during the government formation after the 2024 elections.
