A major blaze broke out at the Queens Hotel in Blaenau Ffestiniog today. Fire crews responded before 11.10am to flames engulfing the building. Six fire engines and an aerial ladder platform are on site, with roads closed off. The incident caused major damage and was ongoing as of 2.05pm.
The North Wales Fire and Rescue Service advised people to stay away and keep doors and windows closed. Eyewitnesses described massive flames and the roof caving in. Traffic diversions were in place, and reports indicated everyone evacuated safely from the hotel.
