Interior Ministry Establishes Central Control Room for Muharram Security Monitoring

Acting on the special instructions of Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, the Federal Ministry of Interior has established a central control room to monitor the peace and security situation during Muharram-ul-Haram, sources confirmed on Friday.

The control room has been set up at the Ministry’s headquarters and will serve as the central hub for real-time threat monitoring, inter-agency coordination, and emergency response during the critical days of Muharram, particularly from the 8th to the 10th. It will remain in constant contact with provincial home departments and relevant security institutions to ensure rapid communication and coordinated action.

According to insiders, the control room will issue immediate threat alerts to stakeholders and dispatch special security updates and incident reports to the concerned authorities. It will also monitor developments through electronic media reports and provide timely assessments to aid in preemptive decision-making.

Various officers from the Interior Ministry have been assigned duty shifts in the control room to maintain round-the-clock operations. These officers will be working in staggered time slots until the conclusion of the 10th of Muharram. The facility has been fully equipped with an emergency telephone number, fax services, and a wireless communication system to ensure seamless connectivity with law enforcement agencies and field units.
