Heavy Rains Cause Casualties and Disruptions in Punjab

Severe rainstorms and strong winds have caused havoc in Punjab, resulting in three deaths and 22 injuries. In Sheikhupura, two children died due to a roof collapse, while multiple incidents of injuries were reported in Vehari, Bhakkar, and Dera Ghazi Khan. In Lahore, various accidents occurred, including a child's death due to electrocution. Authorities have advised citizens to stay indoors and take precautions as heavy rains are expected to continue.

Lahore received an average of 58.8mm of rain, with areas like Nishtar Town, Lakshmi Chowk, and Paniwala Talab recording higher amounts. The city's drainage system faced challenges, leading to water accumulation in key areas. Despite cleanup efforts, residents reported minimal improvements. Other districts in Punjab also experienced rainfall, providing relief from the muggy weather.
