Cleaning Campaign Launched in Selibaby During Rainy Season
The assistant governor of Kedougou, Mohamed Arabi Mohameden, oversaw the launch of a city cleaning campaign in Selibaby in collaboration with the regional council, coinciding with the autumn season. The initiative aims to address health and environmental risks posed by waste accumulation.
Today, the Assistant Governor of Kédi Maga, Mr. Mohamed El Arabi Mohameden, launched a city cleaning campaign in front of the municipality of Seilbabi. The campaign is carried out by the municipality in collaboration with the regional council, coinciding with the autumn season when waste accumulation poses health and environmental risks.
In his speech, the Assistant Governor mentioned the importance of cleaning Seilbabi city at the beginning of the autumn season to address the health and environmental risks associated with the season. The municipality initiated the cleaning operation at the start of the summer vacation, inviting everyone to participate for a cleaner city image.
The Deputy President of Kédi Maga, Mr. Aliou Bobo Diawara, expressed gratitude to the mayor of Seilbabi, the district governor, and regional council members for their coordination in cleaning the city and improving waste management, especially during the autumn season to prevent health and environmental risks.
The regional council provided logistical support for the campaign, including technical teams, trucks, and equipment to ensure the success of the operation. Local efforts, neighborhood leaders, community committees, and volunteer youth were acknowledged for their daily contributions to combating waste accumulation.
The regional council reaffirmed its commitment to continue tangible fieldwork for the benefit of the residents. Mayor Omar Hamadi Ba thanked the administrative authorities for supporting the city cleaning campaign and appreciated the citizens and youth associations for their active participation.
The campaign, essential during the autumn season to prevent disease transmission and environmental hazards, received strong support from the residents, enhancing its effectiveness. All neighborhoods were urged to participate by cleaning their surroundings to facilitate and expedite the campaign.
The municipal equipment remains available for everyone to contribute to the ongoing effort of making Seilbabi a clean city with a healthy environment. The work will continue to ensure a clean and healthy environment in Seilbabi.
The launch event was attended by the district governor, Mohamed Ould Abdallah, the regional director of the Ministry of Youth, Sports, and Civil Service, Nafi Kotl, as well as military and security authorities.
