Janith Liyanage and Dushmantha Chameera's partnership of 58 runs for the ninth wicket provided some resistance for Sri Lanka, but it was not enough to secure a win. Bangladesh lost their first wicket early but recovered well with contributions from Emon, Shanto, Hridoy, Sakib, Jaker Ali, and Shamim Hossain. Fernando and Hasaranga were the pick of the bowlers for Sri Lanka.
In their chase of 249, Sri Lanka lost early wickets, with Tanvir's impressive bowling performance being the highlight for Bangladesh. Despite a fighting knock from Liyanage, Sri Lanka fell short of the target. Tanvir finished with figures of 5-39 to lead Bangladesh to victory.
