Lions' Coach Frustrated by Slow Victory in Sydney

Lions head coach Andy Farrell expressed relief after a 21-10 win over the New South Wales Waratahs in Sydney. Despite the victory, Farrell was frustrated by his team's lack of killer instinct. Centre Huw Jones scored twice, but the Lions failed to score in the final 26 minutes. Farrell emphasized the need for improvement before the first Test against Australia.

Farrell criticized his team's error-prone performance and speculated that the Waratahs may have tampered with the pitch to make conditions tougher. He suspected skulduggery after a conversation with Mike Catt, a former colleague now with the Waratahs. The Waratahs dismissed Farrell's concerns about the pitch, with captain Hugh Sinclair joking about the weather.

Post-game, Farrell reported a clean bill of health for his team. Tadhg Beirne captained the side in place of the injured Henry Pollock. Despite injuries to other players earlier in the tour, Farrell was pleased that the team emerged unscathed from the match.
