An Irish mother, Lisa Kenny, shared her story of experiencing a life-changing stroke just days after bringing her newborn son home. The stroke left her with aphasia, a language disorder often caused by brain injury. Lisa's journey of recovery included brain surgery and months of rehabilitation.

After returning home with her son, Lisa's stroke symptoms began with a headache and progressed to loss of feeling in her arm and leg, and facial drooping. She underwent brain surgery and faced complications before finally returning home after seven months of treatment.

Despite challenges with speech and language, Lisa remains positive and uses support services from the Irish Heart Foundation to aid her recovery. She participates in various programs to improve her communication skills and overall well-being.
