Irish Adults Embrace Healthier Diets During Summer, Study Finds
Research commissioned by Lindahls reveals that nearly one in three Irish adults reevaluate their nutritional habits at the beginning of summer. The shift towards healthier lifestyles is driven by increased physical activity and a desire to feel good during the sunnier months. Walking is the most popular form of exercise, with protein intake being considered the most important factor in a healthy diet.

A growing number of Irish adults are taking a closer look at their diets and embracing healthier lifestyles. A new study shows that almost one in three adults (29%) reevaluate their nutritional habits at the start of summer. According to research commissioned by Lindahls, this is promoted in part by increased physical activity and a desire to feel their best during the sunnier months.
Walking remains the most popular form of exercise, with 58% of respondents reporting it as their go-to physical activity. Nearly half (45%) of adults surveyed believe protein intake is the most important factor in a healthy diet. Next in the rankings was sugar consumption (21%).
According to the research, consumers are increasingly turning to digital resources to stay informed — 47% now rely on online searches to better understand nutrition, while 39% look to product packaging for quick clarity. This trend highlights a rising demand for convenient, nutritious options and clear information.
Speaking about the research, Priyanca Masrani, brand manager for Lindahls UK & Ireland, said: ‘Summer offers the perfect opportunity to reset and embrace a healthier routine.
