Manpower Minister Tan See Leng advises fresh graduates to stay calm and persist in their job search despite uncertainties. The employment rate for the 2025 university graduating cohort has increased by 4 percentage points compared to 2024. Various sectors in Singapore are showing hiring growth, offering opportunities for young job seekers.

The employment rate for the 2025 university graduating cohort was 51.9 per cent in June, which is 4 percentage points higher than the June 2024 rate.
Fresh graduates should press on with their job search, even if the future appears uncertain, said Manpower Minister Tan See Leng.
Dr Tan urged businesses to invest in young graduates who will be future leaders of the workforce. Entry-level vacancies in Singapore have remained steady, with opportunities available in various sectors.
NTUC secretary-general Ng Chee Meng highlighted four main challenges faced by young job seekers, including skills gap, expectation gap, opportunity gap, and experience gap. He encouraged graduates to keep an open mind and explore job opportunities.
Mr Ng also mentioned the NTUC Youth Excel programme and NTUC Starter membership as resources for youth seeking job search support and mentorship.
A national initiative, Career Health SG, was launched to provide training and career support for workers. The Career Health SG website offers information on available support measures for both workers and employers.
