Aqara’s successor to the popular G4 video doorbell, the G410, is now available for purchase. Priced at $129.99, the G410 supports Apple’s HomeKit Secure Video, offers both wireless and hardwired installations, and comes with a host of new features. It functions as a multi-protocol hub that facilitates the transition to Matter for smart homes.
The Aqara G410 features 2K video with a wide 175-degree field of view and end-to-end encryption for live and recorded videos. Equipped with dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Zigbee, and Thread radios, it serves as an Aqara hub, Thread border router, and Matter controller. The device also includes a mmWave sensor for accurate people detection and on-device facial recognition.
Users can stream the G410’s video feed to various platforms like Home Assistant and smart displays from Amazon Alexa, Google Home, and Samsung SmartThings. While advanced features are available through a subscription, most users can enjoy the device without it.
