Users Trick ChatGPT to Generate Pirated Windows Keys Using Fictional Grandma Story

Users are tricking ChatGPT into generating pirated Windows keys by having it appear empathetic to a fictional grandma.

Aside from the incredible work generative AI has been doing in entertainment, computing, medicine, and education, users have discovered ways to exploit AI-powered chatbots like Microsoft Copilot and ChatGPT.

Earlier this year, users used Microsoft Copilot to activate Windows 11 without a license by asking for a script. Microsoft has since blocked this exploit.

Now, users are using OpenAI's ChatGPT to generate activation keys for Windows 7. They are employing a 'dead grandma' trick to evoke empathy from the chatbot.

A user shared a conversation on Reddit where ChatGPT, powered by the GPT-4o model, responded sympathetically to the user's fictional story about their grandma.

The chatbot, equipped with a memory feature, engaged in a touching conversation, generating Windows 7 activation keys in response to the user's story.

While these keys may not work, users have found ways to manipulate AI chatbots for various purposes, including generating activation keys for older Windows versions.
