Siddaramaiah Confirms: I Will Serve Full Term as Karnataka CM, DK Shivakumar Accepts
Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah asserts he will complete his term, dismissing doubts. DK Shivakumar acknowledges no choice but to support him. Congress MLAs call for leadership change, but party leadership remains unchanged.

Karnataka chief minister Siddaramaiah stated that he will remain the chief minister for five years, putting doubts to rest for party loyalists backing DK Shivakumar for the post. Siddaramaiah emphasized, 'I will be Karnataka CM for five years; why should there be a doubt?' The Congress leader's statement comes amidst party legislators supporting Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar as the future Chief Minister of the state.
DK Shivakumar, the state Congress president, clarified that he has not sought the CM position and cautioned against public statements on the leadership change issue. He expressed his support for Siddaramaiah, mentioning the hard work of party workers and the need to prioritize their efforts.
Notably, around 100 Congress MLAs in Karnataka have called for a leadership change from Siddaramaiah to DK Shivakumar, as confirmed by Congress MLA Iqbal Hussain. Hussain appealed to AICC general secretary Randeep Singh Surjewala for the change, although Surjewala has indicated that there have been no discussions on the leadership change.
