Multiple deaths have been reported in Texas after heavy rain caused flash flooding. Search teams used boats to conduct rescues as fast-moving water threatened riverfront communities near wildlife habitats and campgrounds.

Up to 10 inches of heavy rain fell in central Kerr County, causing flash flooding of the Guadalupe River. Judge Rob Kelly confirmed fatalities and dozens of water rescues. Authorities are working to identify the victims.

A flood watch estimated up to 7 inches of rising water. The flood warning affected at least 30,000 people overnight. Governor Greg Abbott urged Texans to heed guidance and avoid flooded areas.

In New Jersey, severe weather led to three deaths. Two men in Plainfield died after a tree fell on their vehicle during a storm. The city canceled July Fourth events due to the storms.
