Police Warn Residents to Keep Children Safe Indoors After Suspected Animal Attack in Ontario

Police are warning residents in a rural eastern Ontario town to keep children indoors or under close supervision after a child was found with serious injuries from a suspected animal attack. The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) issued the warning on social media following an overnight incident in Quadeville, southeast of Barry’s Bay. The child sustained serious, potentially life-threatening injuries, and investigators are determining the cause.

Although the incident seems isolated, the OPP suspects it to be an animal attack, pending further testing. Parents in the Quadeville area are advised to keep small children indoors or closely supervised as a precaution. The child is recovering in the hospital, and authorities are collaborating with medical officials and the Ministry of Natural Resources for the investigation.
