Lauren Sanchez, at 55 and 5-foot-4-inches, lost weight to wear a custom Dolce & Gabbana wedding dress inspired by Sophia Loren. The dress took 900 hours to make. Planning started a year-and-a-half ago over dinner with Domenico Dolce in NYC.
The lace-wrapped dress was inspired by Sophia Loren's wedding look from the 1958 film Houseboat. Lauren wanted a timeless 1950s bride look. The dress featured silk chiffon-covered buttons and delicate lace, ending in a mermaid hem. She wore Dolce & Gabbana earrings.
Her hair and makeup were simple to highlight the couture dress and her bridal glow. Despite opinions on the grand wedding, Lauren and Jeff Bezos looked very happy. Lauren expressed her happiness about marrying her best friend.
